here is the problem i have a 02 vw gti 1.8t, and a few weeks ago my ac compressor went out. i had it replaced worked fine for about two weeks. then it stopped working again i thought maybe it was the fan module replaced that, then it still wouldnt work. so today i just tried to replace the high pressure switch ac still wouldnt turn on. i was just wondering if anyone might know possibly what else it could be. right now the fan nor the ac compressor is turning on.

It should have a relay. Those euros started w/ the CAN-Bus for awhile now and every components is driven by low voltage via relays.

High pressure switch is there to deactivate the compressor when pressure rises abnormally. What you're concerning is the low pressure switch. However, that shouldn't be the first initial diagnose. Here's what I would do:

-Get a guage from local auto parts and check for low-side pressure of at least 30psi or so at rest. the min pressure for the switch may vary bc im just referring to denso product as it's widely use in german cars.
-if no start, then check the relay power to the compressor. You can hear the magnetic clutch kicks in if it works properly.
-if there's power going to compressor clutch, then chances that the clutch is out.

That's the basic step I take on diagnosing ac problem.

Arandom thing to check, but I've had issues with exterior temp sensors on past audi's. when they flake out (and read below 20F or so) or a connection is loose they cause the AC to shut off. Try checking the connection and verifying the reading on the dash or via software & OBDII port.
