Accent color for a gray/gray garage?

I am a rookie in this decorator stuff. I want a shades of gray garage with some color accents. Most of my existing stuff is either red and blue. I think those two are kind of over used. I routinely paint stuff I fab up. I currently use whatever is handy but could switch to something more distinctive and stick with it. I am not really in love with John Deere Orange or Hugger Green or whatever sports team is winning this year. Kind of frivolous I know but stuff needs paint anyway, right?

Any suggestions?

I dunno, red or blue look best to me.

In my smallish garage, after I got everything setup, you don't see that much of the walls anyway, so I would argue that its not that big of a deal unless you anticipate having a lot of blank wall space.

Unless you have something else a weird color (lime green toolbox, yellow car, etc.) I don't see any big reason to do some funky color.

I went with blue and am super happy with the results:

Only downside is everytime someone sees the garage they say "Oh, you must be a cowboys fan!" (I am not). Since you're from Texas as well its something to think about. Orange will make people think you're a longhorn fan, etc. etc.

Also, making a good stripe is not as easy as just laying out some painters tape, especially on a rough surface. The trick is to put up the painters tape, and then put a coat of the base coat on the tape which fills in the nooks and crannies, and then putting your stripe paint color on top.

I'm in the "Blue" camp... I accented my Gray cabinets with white walls, and a blue, black, gray, white floor.

If you are going with a stripe, I advise strongly against trying to do a good job with paint. Hard to get straight and very time consuming. As others have done, go with vinyl tape. I did my 30 x 38 garage in about 2 hrs and it looks great.

on the exterior that you want to work off of? Maybe not exact, but what's that color scheme?

The house is OD, dark green, and cream with Galvalume s4anding seam. ( Really PO the wife when I call it Olive Drab) Garage will echo the house.

Do guys match the inside with the exterior? Is that common?

This one is beautiful. I am not a "me too" kind of guy. I didnt run out and get a tribal or barb wire tat when everyone else did.

My favorite stripe is 3M #471 or the Uline stuff.
