I am thinking of starting a home-based business and would need some type of accounting software for invoicing, etc. What are the thoughts out there?

Are you doing your own taxes? If not, you'll want your CPA to weigh in on this a bit, otherwise initial CPA onboard can be expensive.
Good invoicing software may or may not be the same thing as good accounting (tax) software.

Agree with above. I started my own business in 2005 and bought QuickBooks Pro. I probably don't use 5% if it's capability but it has been fantastic and 2 different accounting firms doing my taxes say all good. The problem is of course I bought it and now you can only subscribe.

Found out that deal won't work out per HR. City won't hire you as a contractor within twelve months of leaving employment. I retire on the 12th. Might stay on for a bit a couple days a week until they hire my replacement. Takes at least 3 months with the civil service process. They finally decided the public works crews might need equipment fixed in a somewhat timely fashion. Really, no ****?! Kind of the busy season.
