Heard it on the radio just now, check your local store. This Feb 20th, get a paper bag up front and take 20% off anything that fits in it. I believe power tools only qualify for 10% off thou. Who knows what is a real good deal?

Awesome, essentially 20% off whole purchase, hopefully, prices aren't jacked up before the sale begins. Worth checking out my local Ace Hardware Store.

So how do Ace prices compare on the 100s of products the big box stores choose not to sell?

Exactly.

I have visited a half dozen local Ace stores which are franchise stores BTW, and have always had good experiences. It's a real hardware store that sells hardware and you can actually find what you need or easily get help finding it. In my experience they will bargain with you on bigger ticket items as well. I don't find their regular prices to be crazy high but when you live in a world of big box stores I can see why you would think they're high priced. Not everybody is an old tightwad coot who will drive an extra 50 miles to save a couple bucks.

I'm going to hit 3 stores where I know I will be able to buy USA Craftsman tools and sets and the cost will be significantly cheaper than the majority of sellers, including online who think NOS USA craftsman stuff is a goldmine. It has higher value no doubt but Ace Hardware is not gouging customers with old USA Cman because they don't know and/or care.

Ace is one of two brick and mortar places I can still find USA Cman so I appreciate their existence. The world could use more Aces' and less Walmarts you dig?

^^ What he said.

ACE is a real hardware store. Often in real towns without big box ********.
Price comparisons between ACE and Megalomart are just stupid.

My ace had the bag sale the today and Saturday. I bought a fiskars hatchet and a 28" chopping axe. Both made in Finland!

+1.

Ace is far less expensive then McMaster, Grainger, MSC and it's usually the only B&M store where you can find a wide selection of H/W.

Ace has saved me many a time.

I got the early bird email today and went to the local ACE to get a YETI tumbler. Nope. Those and power tools are not included in the deal. Showed them the email and they showed me the excluded item poster. I thanked them and walked out. A little miffed because I wasted a trip to town.

My local ace (s) are a chain that bought out all the aco hardware stores and do the same thing. There's more Arizona iced teas, novelty items and bird food than anything else. One tool aisle and half a hardware aisle.

Picked up a Collins sledgehammer. Normally Ace would be more expensive than Amazon or the big boxes, but with the coupon it was a little better deal that I would have found otherwise.

The card that I got in the mail listed the brands that were excluded, Weber, Yeti, etc...
