That's a good price. Besides the sockets, they're having their 5 piece set of Craftsman screwdrivers for $2.99. And they're made in USA at least at my local Ace. Also they have a set of CM clamps for $2.99 and their Stanley 2 plier set for $2.99 (regular pliers and needle nose). Great to toss into your general purpose toolbox or stocking stuffers for relatives and friends.

Oh and speaking of Ace, if you are a Rewards member do NOT toss your members awards flier that comes in the mail. There are 4 cards -- 2 for 25% off an item and 2 for a mystery award. Their rewards discount thing is free to join.

I went to Ace today and asked the employee to scan it. It was for $15 off any non-sale item. So I grabbed an IRWIN VISE-GRIP GrooveLock Pliers, V-Jaw, 10" (GV10) that was $16, so after the coupon it was a measly buck for an awesome set of pliers. This is my first set of this type of pliers. Also, I bought CM phillips screwdrivers and a set of the Stanley pliers. Everything in the pic was $7. The other mystery award is redeemable after the middle of the month.

Good price, but they don't show the size ranges on either the SAE or Metric socket sets, or the SAE or Metric combination wrench sets (which are also on sale for $9.99.)
I guess whoever set up the ad layout just figured that prospective tool buyers will just intuitively know which sizes are in those sets.

I just put a call in to the ACE up the street to ask them size ranges on a couple of those sets. He's going to call me back.
If the metric stuff goes up to 19mm I may well pick up a couple for Christmas presents.

I can't figure out why so many metric wrench sets only go up to 18mm - that just doesn't make sense. And socket sets skip 15mm. Go figure.

I'd assume it's their standard sizes they have in their kits. Good luck. I'll keep an eye on my ace mail in the immediate future, maybe i'll get lucky!

Nice find on the ACE sale TT_Vert. They also have a Free Battery deal on some Milwaukee items at a good price. I'm thinking about the stapler. I needed my Arrow T-50 this last weekend and it went MIA. I was on Ebay and Amazon today looking at the Arrow. But I may buy the Milwaukee 2447-20 instead! The 99.00 + a free battery is the best price I see today,...

ACE had those sets on a Black Friday. Bought both Metric and Standard on 1/4” as well as Metric and Standard in 3/8” for $9.99 each.

Yeah I like it too. I took it over (in my road box) to help a friend repair his car, and we used them several times. He fell in love with them.

ACE probably lost out when Lowe's started carrying Craftsman.

if they were smart they didn't. a lot of contracts have a "most favored nation status" clause. if someone else gets a better deal, they get the same terms.

of course, when the better deal involves sales of ten times your average, it is not as great a clause as you might have hoped.

I bet SBD wants both to succeed. would not suprise me to see them start offering both "exclusives" to keep them happy and differentiate the options.

How long did it take for your Coupons to show up in the mail. Should I roll the bones and wait or just go for some inexpensive screw drivers now? :)

screwdrivers are NOS USA. eventually they are going to run out of them as the new ones are china. For $2.99 I bought 4 packs. The guy at ace said they had USA ratcheting wrenches too in back inventory he had no idea what do with. Some say the old usa cman ratcheting wrenches ****; unsure as I dont remember them.

Went to sears a few days later; all the 5 pc screwdrivers sets were $10.99 and china but one.
