Southwest Florida Ace Hardware stores have 5 piece Craftsman screwdriver sets for $2.99 until the 19th. And they are made in the USA! Not sure if these stores are regional or national, most are franchises, but a great buy if your screwdrivers disappear like mine do.

Thanks , just ordered 2 sets to pick up at my local store (less than 2 miles away), FYI this set appears to Phillips only. The slotted set is still full price ($4.98)

I ordered both (phillips and straight) online and they have pulled them from stock already. I couldn't order the countersinks online (without paying shipping charge of $9.99) but with a phone call they pulled them for me too.

Just picked mine up on my way to work. I ordered 2 sets. When I got to the service counter , they had one set of each Philips and slotted for me. Sweet!

Thanks.
Bought 1 Phillips set and the last USA Rafter Square they had.

Pickings on other Craftsman tools were poor.
The Sears crisis must be affecting them also.

I also went in on the 3M Worktunes/ headset:

http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=83769576&cp=33279796.13320655

Currently at $60.00 according to Camelx3.com.

Picked these up today and they are the nicest set I have had to date and I have had some of the expensive Peltor sets too. Reception is great, ear muffs and top band are comfortable and I haven't even ventured into the blue tooth technology yet. It will be great to be able to hear the phone ring while running equipment. Having said that, they all are about the same after they go through the brush hog!

There's an even better deal at Ace for the Craftsman tool bag combo. One 13" bag and one 18" bag for $9.99. They are very good bags. I have quite a few and plan on picking up two more sets. The bigger ones are convenient for organizing grinders in my experience. The small ones mske good purpose bags.

Does anybody have the creeper seat that's on sale for $24.99? I could use a seat like that but I'm apprehensive about a Craftsman unit.

Keep us updated when you use the Bluetooth. I was very close to buying these, but the base yellows were cheaper and apparently folks had issues with the BT connecting. They have some decent range though so you could theoretically keep your phone in a safe place while working.

Even if you don't plan to use the BT tech, these are still a great deal compared to the yellow pairs on Amazon. Last I looked, they were around $40. I am personally a wired connection fan (they don't lose signal, fail, drain batteries, etc.) so I would probably hardly use it anyways.

I don't think these have Bluetooth. At least the pair I have doesn't. I thought it did when I bought them and got fooled. But they are still pretty nice.

Played with them this morning and they are pretty amazing even compared to Peltors that I have that are way more expensive. The good thing with the Peltors is they are noise cancelling, so you can hear people talk to you while listening to the radio and yet they limit any loud noises when the happen. This set does have Bluetooth and they easily connected right to my phone. They are supposed to turn the radio off when the phone rings and you have to answer the phone manually. This isn't working for me. I will call 3M Monday to see if I can get some guidance.

They also have a cord for a direct link vs Bluetooth if you wanted to listen to a devise that isn't Bluetooth compatible. I also didn't seem to sweat as much with these on yesterday as I do with the others either.

They may be a newer model than mine.

Just went to my local ACE today, they are really selling out of the screwdrivers FAST of the 15 stores in my area only half had them both in stock. Bought one of each, may go back for more flat sets, the Philips set only has 1 #2 driver which is disappointing.

Also got incredibly lucky, called every single ace for 40 miles and one store had one of the 3/8 impact socket sets, on sale for $19.99 in the old Made in USA version! Guy was amazed he still had one. 1/8 inch of dust on top but they are as new. So check the below item at your stores too, you might get lucky!:

Thanks for posting this info! Took advantage and ordered some things online.

Screwdrivers were in stock at my local stores, as were the impact socket sets.

This countersink set looked like a pretty good price too when compared elsewhere:

http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1291277&cp=33279796.13320655

$25.00 at Amazon and $20 at Home Depot.

I also went in on the 3M Worktunes/ headset:

Links just bring me to ace homepage. Can you try again?

I got this pair from lowes. Probably my 5th or 6th different set over the years. These have been my favorite. Only complaint is they don't seem to go as loud as the older sets I have had.

Not sure what happened...

Try this link:

If that doesn't work, from the Home page, try searching for any of the following:

3M Work Tunes Reusable Wireless Hearing Protector with Bluetooth Technology (90542-3DC)

Thanks! Prior to your post, I never even thought about 'needing' these!
Picked one up and it makes the hours spent mowing much more enjoyable while listening to my music collection.

They are surprisingly comfortable and even provide more hearing protection than the ear plugs I usually wear.

Too bad they don't include the rechargeable battery... that costs extra.
So far, I'm happy with their performance.

Op, I guess I should thank you for this. I've managed to be mostly off of GJ for years, but decided to come back on when I broke a CM screwdriver- mostly to see what the deal was with replacements now.

I immediately found this thread and the short of it is that I ended up with 11 new screwdrivers (both sets and a replacement) from Ace for $6. :thumb:

The bad news is that now I'm back on GJ, and that's always bad for my wallet. :lol_hitti

A little late, but just wanted to say thanks for sharing this. I purchased one of each. I ordered online for store pickup, but the store didn't actually have the Phillips screwdrivers in stock (web site counted inventory from distribution center as store stock), so I had to wait a few days for them to come in. No big deal.
