19.5" max height

I have one of those seats, got it for $19.99 at Kmart around this time last year. All in all I'm happy with it, especially at that price point

I may have to get a couple of those stools...I seem to have a better time getting the boys involved in projects, if they have a place to sit. I could give them each their own stool.

Nice stool. I could use one of those.

It has been brought up in other threads, but not all ACE hardware stores honor the circular prices.

If you are an ACE employee, can you explain ACE's policy regarding any requirement of a local ACE to honor advertised prices?

Each ace is franchise owned and therefore up to the franchise owner as to what prices are. It does seem ignorant to not honor pricing but apparently they can do what they want. I know I would not patronize a store that did not.

My youngest has put a few miles on mine laying on it and scooting around the garage and down the driveway:) He rides it more than his bike.

That stool is alright, the worst part about it is the casters. I bought one last year as a gift and replaced the casters with some rollerblade style ones from HF and it rolled much better.

I am an ace employee (store/franchise level) and yes apparently with ace each store retains the ability to set pricing regardless of sales. However there is a work around for most items....

Ace hardware.com offers free shipping to your store of choice. So for most items you can order online and pickup in the store within a few days at the sale price.

Personally I feel that is just bad business and a good way to loose customers. And lucky for me so does our store owner.

Spending $25 on casters to fix a $20 stool doesn't seem to be good economics. But since every time my wheels hit any small object, my stool tries to pitch me in the floor and I wind up looking like a dead bug, all four in the air, it makes more common sense than economic.

Precisely. And decent casters are never cheap. Sorta like zippers on clothing, it's one place manufacturers will try to cut corners. I agree it's not a cheap upgrade but it makes the stool so much more functional and I use it so much I've more than gotten my ROI with no end in sight.

Check out HF #87616. Looks like a set of 4 of the same casters for significantly less $.

You need 5 so that's over $25. Still worth it IMO. I've not seen the 4 pack mentioned above but maybe promising......?

If u pass by a HF everyday print out 5 20% coupons and get one a day.....LOL

Woops..... LOL. Should have written that the 4pc set is $5.99 (stacking the 25% off coupon w. current sale price of$7.99, which at least my local HF allows). But then you still need one more for $5.29.

Most stores send an email letting you know your order is ready for pickup, but I've never received one from Ace.

Is the store required to contact the customer when their online order shows up at the store?
Mine will just set aside the items in the back until the customer inquires about them. :wtf:

Funny you mention that, I just ordered the $20 Stanley sawhorses online and avoided the BF crowds. I got an email from Ace corporate that my item shipped from the warehouse to the store, but just got a CALL today that its ready for pickup, but no email to that effect. Whatever.

At our house they are called **** creepers. If the kids are in the garage, they disappear. You can find them any where----the boys race them. LOL

These were great deals. From the sparse stock at the local stores, they have been popular.

I bought the knife, blades and saw. I initially passed by the screwdriver set because I have plenty. I changed my mind, based in part on the useful wall holder, but haven't seen any in the stores since.

The knife is worth mentioning. I had bought one at the last sale, around mid-year. It's comfortable and easy to use -- once you figure out the yellow blade release button. The negative review are mostly from people that didn't read the instructions while trying it out. It's clever, but difficult to describe in short instructions. You essentially have to press it twice to release and install blades. Once to allow the blade to extend further than usual, and a second time to release the blade.

The saw is a good value, but nothing special. Its coarse, fast-cutting teeth are perfect for trimming off the bottom of a Christmas tree or turning a too-long furring strip or garden stake into a too-short one.

Local Ace Hardware has a sale today only, 50% off one item up to $30 or $15 off any item over $30. Picked up a $29.99 Irwin 24" bar clamp for $15.

Also have some decent $4.99 hot buys and a couple smaller items for $1 (level, cheap mini "precision" screw drivers).

Damn really good deals, especially on the screwdrivers!

The 'Craftsman adjustable mechanics seat' is well worth $20 or so long as you're not after a dryland speed record.

I've used 'em for years as a substitute for 5gal buckets but not cinder blocks or 3ft step ladders....

I'm planning on buying the $70 pressure washer, unless someone here warns me off.

In the past few years I had a low-end B&D stolen, and a low-end Stanley burst a hose. So I would prefer a washer that compactly and safely spools the hose, while being easy to carry or roll from safer storage. Or I can just buy another cheap one so that I won't cry too much when it needs to be replaced.

Oh, yes. Nice deal. I have several Jorgenson clamps in various sizes. Very good quality, and last forever.

I'm guessing these are still Made in the USA. Anyone know if that is correct? Never know theses days who is offshoring.....

Yup, just picked up the last four in my local Ace and they all say Made in U.S.A.. Darn good deal for sure!
