Any one know who makes them? I was just in today and saw quite a few screwdrivers, toolboxes, etc that looked at least as good as the Craftsman. Are they made by the same manufacturer?

Last I checked it was Danaher (years ago) but it's probably some Chinese company now (as if Danaher wasn't).

I bought a 1 " socket set from ACE about 10 years ago. Probably have not used it 40 times but when I did it worked great. It is another one of my tools that when I need it, nothing else will take it's place. Not sure where they were made.

Their pipe wrenches are Craftsman without the Craftsman name and about $6 cheaper IIRC. No idea who makes them though.

I come across literally tons of Napa USA tools in my weekly flea market visits. Common as C-man out here.

Their screwdrivers looked about like the standard Craftsman so I considered just replacing my old screwdrivers with the Ace brand.

Our local ACE carries C-man now...

It is a "private owner/ franchise",
not an Ace corporate with a store manager,
if that makes a difference?

Their combo ratcheting wrenches are made by gearwrench, says Gearwrench on one side and Ace Professional on the other side.

ACE tools are china made danaher. They are the same hand tools that Northern tool sells (called "Northern Industrial"). They are cheap, great quality tools for being china made. (some are Taiwan).

They're not bad tools. Better than HF, but a little more expensive. My dad liked to buy them when he started to not want to go all the way to Sears any more.

All of the Ace red & black handled pliers are made in China. On most of them the cross-sections of the plier halves, where they overlap for the pivot, seem to be very, very thin, and the machining is pretty rough.

The Ace Professional brand is made in Taiwan of Chrome Vanadium steel and hold up very well. Sockets have the detent slots for the ratchet ball to rest in. Would be hard pressed if comparing these to Williams/Baco/Danaher offerings, right up there with the best brands for quality & Warranty! Hard to determine brands when comparing with s-k, craftsman, Ace/Pro. Take a little quiz==A-B-C-see if you can identify?
The 1/2" set pictured is up for possible trade if anyone is looking for a new travel kit/road box/xtra for under the seat.
