Ace Pro = GW?

I know that the ACE ratcheting wrenches are gear wrench (and normally double stamped with ACE PRO and GW), But who makes the Non-Ratcheting? It looks very similar to GW, but is stamped CHROME VANADIUM which kind of seems to kill it for me. When i see that stamped i think cheap china. But it seems well made other than that, it was to fill a hole, but i'm still debating whether i like it enough to buy more.

This one says "ACE Pro Series" as opposed to the older "ACE Professional"

individual is roughly $7ish for the smaller ones, i got an 11/32 for 6.99, full polish (mirror polish). It's got some good weight behind it and it reminds me of Blue-Point other than the cheap CHROME VANADIUM stamp.

I was thinking GW as well. They had the sets on sale during black Friday for ten bucks. I picked up a few for gifts. I haven't used them, the older ones were made in Taiwan, they seemed decent, I sent a set of those to my cousin, they worked out for him.

They really do fit the bill, but as i look closer the box ends seem a little bit less smooth than GW, then again i only looked at the smaller ones, next time i'll have to look at some of the bigger ones.

Great neck usually brands with the store name (see kobalt, something I just found out about). Probably repackaged chinese or indian wrenches. Seems to be a lot of indian wrenches in the bargain tool lines, wouldn't be surprised if these were those, a lot of the repackaged ones are stamped "chrome vanadium" with the size stamped without any brand (like wilmar and probably titan). They probably just throw their own labels on the top of the plastic.

do their great neck branded wrenches get better steel or a better polish? most of the great neck labeled polished wrenches seem to look better then their rebadges. i have some old raised panel great neck wrenches with the great neck name. ive used them without issue. not my go to tools, but i used to sell their line in the late 90's at a mom and pop hardware so ive got some odd ball stuff to fill out sets.

They are a REALLY nice polish, and when i hold it next to a Gear Wrench, they have identical font, and shape. I'm somewhat convinced it's a GW. But the fact they stamped CHROME VANADIUM is a bit disconcerting

Confirmed by the Tool Manager today, ALL Ace Pro wrenches are made by GearWrench and re-branded. even the non-ratcheting ones.

Fair enough, although it is anywhere from $1-$10 per wrench cheaper to get one saying ACE instead of GW and i get the same warranty. works for me.
