Ace Rewards Members: DeWalt 5" Corded Random Orbit Sander: $30
Limit 4 - Ends 8-13-2018
https://www.acehardware.com/departments/tools/power-tools/orbital-sanders/2437887

I wasn't an ACE member, nor an ACE Rewards member (for whatever reason they are two separate things), but saw that deal and I could use a new ROS right now so I jumped through the hoops. For me the site was glitchy. Made it hard to sign up and didn't want to let me add it to my cart until about the 4th try and then there were 4 of them in my cart, and it didn't show the lower price in the cart but did when I went to check out. Eventually I got it all worked out and my 'ready-for-pickup' email showed up less than 10 minutes after placing the order ...

Thanks, I got one ordered. It was a pain to checkout, it kept getting an error. Switched to paypal and everything went through fine.

Thanks for the tip.

I didn't have any problem checking out, used Paypay, but when I signed up for the Ace Rewards, it never really finished. I eventually checked my e-mail, and there was a confirmation, so it was OK.

Maybe not really necessary but both of my r o s are variable speed so I seem to like the variable speed feature again maybe not really necessary to be honest I have never used a single speed random orbit sander. Anthony enjoying my new rental home in Bridgeport Ohio

I’m having a heck of a time joining Ace Rewards. It says my rewards number is linked to an online account and I’m logged in, but the discount isn’t showing on the checkout page :headscrat

I spent 30 minutes last night trying to order one. When PayPal kicked me back to Ace the cart was empty. I gave up.

For those that had issues and gave up. try again. They may have got their glitch worked out. All went well after I messed around a couple times, then it finally went through. At first it didn't want to deduct the $25.00. I called their CS and they said just to pay and they would manually deduct the $25.00 when I called back. When I tried to check out again, the discount appeared and the transaction went through fine.

Good luck!

I figured out how to get it, I had to task the system to create a new Ace Rewards number.

This is probably going to come out wrong but I'm glad I wasn't the only one who struggled with their site. :D

It seemed like signing up for both the site and Rewards accounts each took a few minutes to take effect and sync up together. Trying to sign up and place an order taking advantage of the discount all-in-one-go sort of overloaded it. I've been back to the site and all seems hunky-dory now that I'm already in their system.

Anywho. I ordered too late Sat to get there before they close, and I work 12 hrs Sundays long before and after their short Sun hours, so I'm still going to have to wait until tomorrow after work to go pick mine up.

I have a Dewalt DW421 ROS that's still going after having used it for about 20 yrs now. But it looks like I've been using it for 20 years. I don't expect I'll be getting another 20 out of it, though you never know. This good deal seemed like the right time to get a new one. Besides, I have help sometimes, well, a lot of the time, while working on projects, and having an extra sander will come in handy. Unlike a lot of my tools, I have no qualms putting a sander in just about anybody's hand to help move the job along.

After even more headaches I picked mine up tonight. Last night the website said to pick it up at the store across town. So I go over there about an hour before closing to get it. After much searching and bringing me a sander that someone else had purchased online we figured out that the website told me the wrong store. I looked closer at the email and it had the address for the store that's only 10 blocks from my house. sure wish the website had told me that, or that I had paid closer attention to the email.

Anyway the sander seems fine. The vibration isn't to bad, a lot less than my 1/4 sheet palm sander. And the dust collection works pretty good, even with just the bag on it. I'm sure it's not the greatest thing out there but for the couple of times a year that I'll use it I'm sure it'll do the job just fine.

Hook a small shop vac to it.
You will be amazed.
smoother, and collects the dust, and as a bonus, sandpaper lasts longer too.

I've tried for 3 days now to sign up to be a reward member and the site gives me a contact customer service error every time. I've tried different browsers, tried from phone, ect.

Their website is terrible. I give up.

Just ordered one myself. My local store didn't have them in stock so I have to wait a few days but I don't actually need it until the beginning of October anyway when I start my dining room table build for our new house so I don't mind waiting.

My sales tax was slightly lower so my order total was only $31.79 thanks for the heads up on this I needed one!

ZDid you try switching browsers? Chrome doesn't work well for me. IE usually for me is best

Picked mine up last night, had a teenage kid that worked there chase me down in the parking lot as he thought I was steeling it since the online pickup is back at the service counter instead of at the registers at my ace. Not that I am a huge guy but it was funny how much you could tell he was intimidated to confront me about it. I kindly showed him my receipt and he then looked at me funny when I said it was an online order and said oh ok i guess and walked off.
