Got an email from Ace about 15% off cyber Monday sale. Didn't research it much at Ace but had some things at homedepot.com I wanted. Did the online chat and they matched it. No special coupon code from Ace just a sitewide sale.

I'm surprised they would consider it. I had always assumed that HD would only match on individual items. They were able to match the entire sale for you? (IE: 15% off at Ace website = 15% off at HD website)?

Yeah bought 8 items. I had to give them each item and they "researched" it. Not sure what that meant. Maybe to see if Ace sold the same item? Bought a Millwaukee hole saw kit, some electrical items, Bernzomatic torch head and extension hose. Took a little time but worth it.

Though they would match the same item, so it would need to be sold at ACE and homedepot.com would verify price on Ace's website.

My local HD told me the items had to be the same in both stores or online to match. After some polite conversation with the manager, who was wearing elf ears on BF, he allowed me to match on similar items at similar prices. Seems to be who you talk to and what kind of day they are having.

How do imagine this practice, and the use of ACE paper coupons at HD, to be sustainable? I mean eventually isn't the ultimate result ACE going under and therefore you having no coupons to match?

If the reason for using ACE coupons at HD is that HD base prices are lower, isn't that enough for you?
