Air gas up north here is about 80 bucks for that...I stopped doing business with them directly...I found my local steel supplier also exchanges tanks...airgas tanks...that 80 dollar exchange went to 40 bucks....125 cu' 75/25 mig mix, airgas 62.50, steel shop 28+tax.....I am doing a lot more business with the steel supplier...Airgas has pretty much bought out all the smaller shops in our area, and are obviously bending the weekend fabricator/hobbyist over...Commercial account , gets you a pretty good discount evidently..

I wouldn't go to AirGas at gun point.......for the above reason

2 generations of my family have been dealing with 3 generations of the Sims family at Sims Welding.......

they service the LA-Long Beach Harbor and the local oil refineries

I walk in the door they call me by name and I'm probably one of their smallest customers.....my Father started going there in the '30s

loyal customers or what?

hydro charges are you kidding me?....leaky valve? here have another tank.....
hey can I change this K for a T?......no problem

I buy my spools there but not my TIG rod......I get from John $2.50 a pound, new sealed packages aluminum, Mg, Ti, Inconel, PH17-4, silicon bronze etc.....half of it is in small diameters that aren't even in the catalogs......

the only thing I might run out of is 1/16" Everdure LOLOL

Consider switching over to propane. It's much cheaper and easier to get.

Not in Wisconsin I just heard people paying over 4.00 a gallon. Short on supply and high demand with the cold snaps we have been having. Also the farmers use for drying this season was way above predictions.

I just got an 8% increase from Air-gas on all my welding gasses used in the shop.

this is the absolute WORST time to make that comment! I work for a welding supplier and our COST for propane has more than doubled in last month!!

Which state?

Ohio has this hazardous gas tax or something on some gases I buy, I don't remember Massachusetts having that. I haven't looked at my acet bill in a while.

Wow, must be extreme differences in different parts of the country. I can get a gas grill tank filled at Costco for $12.99 in Raleigh. I got tired of the acetylene prices years ago and switched. ***** that propane isn't as cheap everywhere else, it's a lot more convenient to get on a weekend or holiday also.
