I'm looking at epoxy coating and had a question.
I have a new garage floor and driveway and I would like to epoxy coat the garage floor but I'm concerned that when I acid etch it the run-off will stain/discolor my driveway when I rinse it out of the garage.

What will happen to the driveway when it comes in contact with the acid? The garage floor wasn't sealed, but the driveway was.

Canada, eh?
You don't say what your driveway is made of but I have a sealed exposed aggregate driveway and the acid from washing my floor before the expoxy coat had no effect on the driveway -- but I did make sure to flush it off with lots of water.

I just did this myself about a month ago. After letting the acid sit on the (garage) floor the recommended time, it will neutralize (I'm to understand) and turn into to a salt which can safely be washed out the garage. I washed mine out to the driveway, and after a few Seattle rains, etc. You can't tell any difference in the driveway, than from before.

You should be fine.

BTW, I am originally from Ohio and am also a chevelle guy as you can see from my sig.

Ashtabula is my home town.

Agree with all above - and... If you have any landscaping "downstream" of the floor you want to be sure the rinse is well diluted, or even divert the runoff away from lawns, plants, etc.

Small world - my wife recently inherited a small parcel of family land in Ashtabula. She's trying to sell it, but the real estate market there's not the best right now. Some pretty parts up there.
