I muriatic acid etched my floor last Sunday, and wanted to check in on the result. My floor was very smooth when I started. After getting the 'hang of it', I went back and etched my first few areas again. The floor has a rougher texture than I began with. Some people have said to compare the results to 80-120 grit sandpaper. I have 100 grit knocking around and my floor doesn't feel like 100 grit sandpaper. Should I be concerned? I can see more porousity and little spider webs (fissures?) in alot of places, but it isn't 100 grit sandpaper.

Please weigh in...

Thanks in advance,

Scott/Gotta56forme

You will be alright. The acid is just to open the pores of the concrete for the epoxy to grab to . As long as it is rough the acid has done it work.
