Acid Stain Advice

Hello everyone. I'm looking for some acid stain advice. I'm closing in on finishing my mancave. The previous owner used this space as a woodworking shop and I've transformed it into a cool hangout area. Now, the final step is the floor. My plan has been to put down a high gloss acrylic sealer that would be easy to redo over the years. I like the natural gray color of the concrete and it goes with the color scheme of the room.

However, the more I look at acid-stained floors the more I'm blown away by them. Trouble is, the available colors wouldn't really work for what I'm doing. I'm looking for gray with a black accent color. So, my questions are;

1) Would it be reasonable to use the plain gray concrete floor as my base color and accent it with flashes of black acid stain? Or, would that be likely to end up being a disaster?

2) Another option might be to etch the floor and then go with a waterbased gray stain as a base color with accents of black. However, I'm a little leery about the waterbased stains as there seems to be mixed opinions on them. I wouldn't want to apply any product that might lead to failure of my sealer.

Of course, the third option would be to simply acid etch, apply a good sealer and call it a day. Any advice that people could provide would be appreciated.
