Acid Stain Manufacturers Question

I'm looking at Acid Stains for concrete.

Most of them seem to have the basic 8 colors that are identical.

They are pretty much applied identically.

Is there any difference to them?

The Acid stains I am referring to here are the ones that are like the Kemiko Stone Tone.

been searching around for stains also but really wanted something to go with it to Spill proof the shop floor as well. Came across this and thinking about trying it out.

I just finished putting down some Quikcrete acid stain in my basement garage. Waiting on an order of clear polyaspartic from Legacy to use as a top coat.

Where did you get the quickcrete? How much was it?

Do any of the big box stores carry Acid Stain?

Picked it up at Lowes.....$72/gal. Coverage is 300-400 sqft/gal depending on how porous the concrete is. My floor is 15 yrs old,700 sqft, previously painted & prepared with a diamond grinder. I used about 1.5 gallons.
Quikcrete acid etching stain comes in 3 flavors....tan, coffee & cayenne red. I used the coffee. According to Scott at Legacy his polyaspartic will go over any manufacturer's acid etch. I believe Legacy also sells it's own acid etch as well.

Scott is correct. We can top any acid stain, although we are partial to our own. Les be sure to neutralize and double rinse or you will have issues with topcoat. :thumbup:

Acid stains, from the major players, are pretty much a commodity item. They may have a few small differences, but the results will be very similar.

for my application the topcoat wont work. I do a lot of welding, grinding, plasma work and any topcoat is going to burn off. Which is why I have been looking to a product like a densifier or possibly the radonseal stuff that penetrates into the concrete and leaves nothing to peel, burn or flake off

It would be nice if the Wolverine Rep or Legacy would make an asessment of the Radonseal stuff? I've looked up every Rdonseal I could find in the search tool and there's nothing...

We don't analyze our competitor's products. This would be anti-productive.
All I know is that a sealer will not eliminate radon. I can say this from talking to experts in relationship to my own radon issues.

If you want high quality flooring products with as much help as I can supply then call us.

Ahh Come on...

You must have an opinion on competing products and technologies, to say differently is ddisingenuous.

I will say, that I called these guys today. The call immediately went to Voicemail, and they never responded to the voicemail I left. Basically, third rate BS here.

not looking for it to seal radon. they have a different material for that i think. looking for a color and sealer that is oil/fluid/burn proof. I have seen many opinions on other products here?? if we cant get a hold of them thats a different story and a dead duck

That sounds interesting. I'm finishing movig this week. The weather got so hot so early this year, I figured I may have to wait till the fall.
