acid stain vs. lastiseal

I am trying to decide how to finish and seal my already poured slab. I like the look of acid stain and have been leaning that way. The lastiseal stain and densifier looks interesting too. On the lastiseal site they claim that acid stain can continue to change color because of moister coming up through the concrete and can turn black. I have never heard of this before. Is it true? They also say that acid stain will make concrete more brittle. Is this true?

And water based stains can fade.... the list goes on.
Keep a good coat of sealer on it and it will last a real long time, especially in a garage.

What about the acid stain getting darker over time and making the concrete brittle? Thanks for the help?

Again, indoors no issue. There are a few specific colors that can't be used outdoors and they are specified in our color chart. It will not make the floor brittle .

Your blues and greens can blacken over time with moisture transferring through the concrete. The other metallic salts are more stable. Some companies try to get fancy and add water based colorants to their reactive acid stains to stretch their color choice because some of the salts are expensive. These may fade over time. Once the reaction occurs with true reactive acid stains the only way they fade is due to the wearing of the surface. A solvent based acrylic sealer will keep the colors rich and vibrant on exterior applications. The water based epoxies will pop the color some what on interior but the water based acrylics wont give the color the pop. Solvent based epoxies pop the color well on interior apps. The reference of white and grey on the color chart refers to an overlay verses grey concrete.
