ACLS "Low Ceiling" Car Lift?

Has anyone heard of this lift before, or know anything about it? The manufacturer's web site (American Car Lift Service) doesn't have any information other than a single photo and the 8'10" minimum ceiling height figure.

The design seems to be just a simple wedge/ramp, with a hinge for the upper deck. It looks substantially less complex than the Bendpak PLT-6S, the Harding Steel lifts, or any of the other articulated cantilever "parking/storage" lifts.

If you ask me, kind of defeats the purpose unless of course you have a deep garage but seems the height would still be the same, if not higher actually. They make low profile 2 post lifts that fit in regular car garages. I see them from time to time anywhere from $800 - $1500 on CL that is just a two post lift. Lifts just high enough to fit another car under it and they have safe guards that stop the lift before destroying the ceiling. I would say this would be better than that. The idea of that makes sense but at the engle of the car, just seems like you could just fit the car with a two post normal way.

No idea. The company (like many other lift companies) doesn't list prices on their website, and I couldn't find any reviews or reports from anyone else who had bought one.

I am looking into a lift to be able to work on the under carriage of my Mustangs.
You can't do that with this lift....so, I wouldn't even consider unless it was less than a $1,000...and even then, I would want to modify it so I could gain access to the under carriage.
They say, if you have to ask, "How Much?" ...it is too expensive for you!

This is a parking lift, not a service lift. So no, it wouldn't be a good fit for your needs, nor would the others of this style (PLT-6S, etc). They are designed for a different purpose.

That being said, I can't tell from the picture if this is a solid platform, or if it is two tracks with an open center. If the ACLS lift has an open center, then if it was stopped mid-swing (level to the ground), it would be comparable to the Kwik-Lift, which is quite popular... Even found a Mustang on one for you.

Or in this case, that's just how the industry operates.
Bendpak, Backyard Buddy, Mohawk, Challenger, Rotary, Forward Lift, American Custom Lifts, Danmar, and many others do not list prices on their websites. You just pick what you are after, get a few quotes, and go from there.

All good points. I think day-to-day drive on / drive off simplicity would be the selling point for this one. Most of the used two-post lifts I see on CL don't have tracks, so positioning the arms would get to be a chore if you were using this for two cars on a daily basis. Plus not having posts in the way when opening doors would be nice.

No idea on pricing yet, but due to the simple design and reduced parts count, it could also be lower cost by quite a bit. We will have to wait and see on that...

In the mean time, I found another similar product, the Park Plus DP007.

This one looks like a simpler design than the Bendpak or Harding Steel, but still more complicated than the ACLS wedge design.

I priced one of those many years ago and they were pricey. IIRC they were more than a high end four post by quite a bit.

They make a lift called the No-post parking lift that looks impressive.

I have zero use for a storage lift. If I'm buying a lift, it's to service my vehicles...

Ive got two service lifts and two garages, so for me a dedicated parking lift would fit me perfectly.
