I'm building a 32 x 48 garage, the walls are 13' and the trusses are 6/12 over a 4/12 scissor. I have white Menards Dura panel on the ceiling, but I want to try to keep the noise level down. I'm thinking of putting a row of the acoustical liner panel on the top 3 feet of the walls. Behind the liner panel is a 2x6 wall with 2-1/2" of spray foam, I'm thinking/hoping the sound would go through the perforations and into the foamed stud cavities and die there. I'm wondering if someone on here has done something similar and are satisfied with the results?

What are you going to be doing in the space? And is dust going to be a problem?
It will be kind of a multi use building, but mainly basketball, woodworking, and parking my boat, lawnmower, etc., I plan to have dust collection and an air cleaner in the "shop" area. Only hobbyist type woodworking, nothing of major production.
Will that liner provide fire protection from the spray foam? You could make 2'x3' acoustic panels from fabric, wood frame and mineral wool insulation on the cheap for a big benefit.
I didn't think of the fire protection factor on the spray foam, though I plan on covering the remainder of the wall with a wood of some kind so not really an fire protection there any way? I do like the fabric panels and mineral wool idea.
