Acr2000 need some help on a/c machine

Just picked up a acr2000 robinair a/c machine it said in initalization mode when I turned it on and I figured it needed a bottle of freon on it to help make it go but it didnt. Most searches point to $500 and send in your main module they will fix in 24-48 hours. Anyone ever fooled with one I bought it to use couple times a year right now don't want to sink that much more in it. I took main module apart and didn't see anything obvious but it did have a quarter sized battery in it that had a sticker saying replace with factory equivelantant and I'm not sure if this machine has been used in years would that affect initalization?

For the cost of a watch battery, should would make sense to throw one at it.
