Acrylic sealer: Are users satisfied with result?

I was wondering whether people who used a solvent based acrylic sealer in their garage are satisfied with the long term results?

Solvent Based Acrylic Sealers are not a long term solution for anything. They have faily weak adhesion and almost anything will dissolve them. On the 'plus' side, they are cheap! In addition, as the floor begins to fail, it is relatively easy and cheap to put another coat on. It's like anything else in life... Do you want to pay now or later?

If you don't give your floor much abuse and you can take your stuff out to recoat once in awhile then this might be a good option for you. We sell alot of solventborne acrylic sealer for walkways at amusement parks... got 1000 gallons going out today...

I'm very happy with mine. I used the Butterfield Color Guard not some cheap **** from Home Depot, Menards, or Lowes. It's been down almost a year, had transmission oil, brake fluid, and gas spilled on it with no problems. Not to mention the salty water dripping off this winter. I also wipe off road tar that gets tracked in off the tires with lighter fluid. Still looks fine. Its a Xylene based product. According to the vendor I bought it from if I need to recoat it in a few years all I need to do is just scrub the floor down and recoat. I wouldn't give you 2 cents for expoxy after using this stuff.

I used a light gray. Didn't acid etch before as I already had a sealer on it. Didn't know what it was so I rented a EDCO floor grinder and it left the surface feeling like 120 grit sandpaper. We had some 90+ degree temps last summer and I pulled right into the garage with no hot tire problems. Heres a few pictures when I finished.

Do you use it a fair amount for working on cars and other projects or do you use garage mostly for parking?

Mostly just parking and wood working. I do some auto repair though. I make sure I put a piece of old carpet under my jack stands. I want to take care of it so no need to try and abuse it. But spilling the fluids on it can't be helped, I just clean them up asap.
