Add a car port?

I need some ideas for (possibly) adding on to my garage. I have this nice, large pad, with a small garage on it. I'd like to add a car port, just for some basic shelter for my truck. It would need to handle decent snow load, and high winds. The space is 9 1/2 ft. from the garage wall to the fence, and the wall is about 22' long.

I don't want to get too involved or expensive, since I know that I'll be moving away from this house in 4 years. But then, I don't want some ridiculous hack job hanging off the garage. :D It would be nice to add some functionality, and maybe even value.

The existing garage is solid, don't want to tear it up too much in the process. Haven't checked into if a building permit is required, just wanted to see if there's some creative solutions out there.

A problem you will run into is the pitch, you can not continue in the same direction. you would have to pitch it in the center and lead it front to back, perpendicular to your existing roof and mating with it. If you put a flat roof on it will most likely not hold up to snow.
