Fellas, I have installed a new to me (used) outdoor condensing unit and matching A coil. I have run my lineset, but haven’t brazed the lines in yet. The house the unit came out of had a 25ft lineset and I ran a new 50ft lineset for my application. I do you think I should add some refrigerant oil?

No you do not need to add any unless you know for a fact that you lost a significant amount because of an oil trap in the old lineset.

Asking for my own knowledge; Would adding the 50' of line, which would be about 14 square feet of interior surface area, not reduce the oil level significantly as it coats that new surface? I know in automotive when I add an evaporator or condenser I add 2oz of oil. Replacement lines get about an ounce. But we're probably not starting with as much oil in the system as a home unit?

Like brewchief saying there is no need to add any oil unless you loss oil. Over the yrs installing system we did not really know how long line set would be till ran it then fit it up. Start with 50' roll and cut off what don't need. So it could be 25' run or 30' or 50' run. Suction line may be 5/8-1 1/8. Either way the compressors comes with the right amount of oil. Keep in mind that freon is only picking up droplets then returning back to compressor. Up in colder climates your compressor may have a crankcase heater to keep oil warm and separated from freon. I think the different is between auto and home systems is when working on auto system you always lose oil, since system does not hold much oil losing little is losing alot
