I just finished a kitchen remodel and I figured I have way too much money in this kitchen to be coming in from the garage with dirty greasy hands from wrenching on cars all night and getting the bran new sink and faucet area nasty. Went to the local Menards and picked up a wash tub, faucet, PVC for the drain and a few sticks of 1/2" copper, some fittings and valves etc. and got to work. I had $194 invested in parts and supplies. The garage butts against the kitchen wall so I ran the drain right into the kitchen drain plumbing in the basement which was about 5 feet away with PVC. I spliced into the existing hot and cold copper pipes in the basement for the kitchen and fed them up through the wall into the garage also. I was able to tuck it in a corner where the garage furnace is so its out of the way. The faucet I picked has garden hose thread on the spout so I can run hot water out to the drive way to wash cars with a hose now. All of my hot water is soft water so hopefully no more water spots! I feel this was well worth the $194 for any mechanic that works out of his garage so you don't have to trash your kitchen sink when your done.
