After finding out mini split have somewhat anemic fan..

I added a oscillating fan to move air around but can be aimed directly at the engine bay as well.

It's just a 14" one and draws 50w so it won't contribute significant heat compared to the bigger ones.

Does anyone else use fan in addition to their AC ?

The mount doesn't go over stud so a plank was used to transition
I had some used suspension bushing which worked perfect as an isolator. There is vibration at the pole but nothing at the screw.

How is it working out?
Thinking about putting one in my shop, just wasn't sure if it'd be worth it.

It's working out pretty good when I was in the garage today. Didn't even need to turn the AC on.

while a bigger fan will be more windy it uses about 4x more power and 10 decibels louder. I know if i get a second identical fan the decibels will only go up 3 db and power is only doubled.

I fired up my 20" unit it is very windy but the noise was a bit too much for me. The 24" to 30" fan is probably too big for residential garage like mine.

Price was $82 on this one to help spot cooling and help circulate the AC better

Oh wow I just did the exact same thing. The mini split puts out plenty cool air but it does not really circulate the air in the garage. I put a 16" fan in the corner and it does a great job of getting air all over the garage. Agreed on the 'aim at engine bay' deal too. Funny when you move in the garage and feel the temp difference from the mini split fan and the wall mounted fan.:p

Since cool air falls and warm air rises, wouldn't it better to put a fan on the floor and angle it up so it blows the cool air upward?

In theory you are correct. I have not seen anyone done that way. I think it would recirc dust. Blowing on your face and neck is probably the quickest to cool.

I was spending a couple hours today and using the fan in oscil and low speed the conditioned air is distributed very well. About 1500cfm. So when I walk to the back of the car it doesn't feel like a warmer zone

I just sold my 20" floor fan due to it taking too much space and too loud
