So back in the Summer, I ordered a set of NewAge cabinets but didn't get them mounted all right away because my garage is such a mess. Well, it started driving me crazy to now have to walk around the cabinets as well as the rest of the mess so I finally mounted all I ordered. I am using the Lowes Kobalt k-rail to hang all the cabinets so I can pull it down easy if I ever want/need to.
Here's some of the pics.

I ended up changing my initial layout for a little better use of space for me so now I need to order a bunch more cabinets to complete the space. I'll be ordering 8 more here in the next few days. Once those come in, I'll get them hung right away and then empty all the boxes and fill up my new space. Then, I can actually work on my cars.
As is, I've been doing the work from 9:00pm to about midnight after I get the kids to bed.

I know all about working in the garage after the kids go down.

Doesn't leave too much time to do anything, but it's a start.

Cabinets look good. I like the red-gray color combo.

How do you like the matte finish? Hanging the base cabinets on the wall is pretty cool. I hung wall units stacked two high in my garage, worked great.

:rocker:

I really like the matte finish. I was surprised how easily it fingerprinted though so I did wipe them off when done.
I'm ordering 8-9 more from you here on Friday most likely. My upper cabinets will be 2 high. I thought about using the base cabinets 6 wide up high but due to where my lighting is, I felt the wall cabinets that opened up would work best for me.
Now I just can't wait to finish it off and fill them up!

Is that a '79 Mustang Pace Car? Had one back in the day, really looked sharp.

Yeah, I've got a '79 pace car, an'82 GT below that and a '90 next to them. They're the reason I have to clean the garage! My '90 now has all sorts of scratches from the kids walking by or grabbing a bike or big wheel. :(

Liking the color combo, might have to look into those sooner than later.

Nice looking shop! The cabinets look great, and I too know about putting the kids first before garage time.

These are the standard Performance cabinets?

The cabinets shown are 24 gauge Performance Series Cabinets.

The Performance Cabinets have a 3 drawer base cabinets, Performance Plus is 5 drawers. They are also smaller cabinets, base cabinets are 16" deep. The Performance Plus base cabinets are 22" deep.

Check out the comparison chart from ShopStorageCabinets.com

So I finished up hanging the last cabinet this past weekend and did a little cleaning and beer drinking. Now I just need to finish cleaning the rest of the garage!

Thread resurrected...

Tell me more about your Kobalt K-rail mounting solution. What did you add to the back of the cabinets to allow them to work to the rail?

I simply bought the kobalt k rail cabinet mounts. They're just metal j brackets that you bolt on to the cabinets in the normal mounting holes. I don't have any pics handy or I'd post it up. Once I have the k rail mounted on the wall, i plop the cabinet on the rail and then just slide it into its final position.
On a related note, the cabinets are still great and looking new. I'm not sad I didn't buy the heavier duty ones as these have held plenty of weight for me. Maybe eventually I will try to put too much **** in one and damage it but I doubt it. I still give them a long term thumbs up!
