Added some lights

This is my first post on here. Thought I'd share some of the lighting we just setup in the "shop" area of my garage. Father-in-law is an electrician who owns an electrical contracting company, so he had some spare 4' fixtures and wiring. Over the holiday, we added four 4' 2 bulb fixtures to the side walls, a single 4' 4 bulb fixture to the front face of the garage. Also spray painted an ugly old 3 bulb ceiling fan we had laying around black and hung it from the ceiling.

Feels much more like a man cave now

That ceiling fan looks out of place (even after painting) but I'm sure it works great and that's all that really matters.

I do agree that it would be nice to have more light directly overhead on the ceiling. Does that section of your garage only get used for automotive work? The low/angled lighting would be hard on the eyes if used for anything else but is ideal for automotive work.

I think it looks darker than it really is because the camera probably stopped down because of the direct light.

The camera brightness was turned down because it was so bright, so the pictures are deceiving. The ceiling fan has three 23w (75w) bulbs, so there is still quite a bit of light coming from the ceiling.

Yes the area is basically my "shop" portion of the garage for working on my car. The problem I had with only overhead lighting was that the hood blocked light from getting to the engine bay, and there wasn't much light in or under the car. These lights make it 100x easier to see that.

Looks great. I was deceived by the first pic as well.

That space has a lot of potential...like for a full-size lift. Stick around for awhile and you'll keep the ideas coming. Good to be in tight with a good electrician!
