Adding A Drain

Quick question guys, not specifically garage related but it’s probably the same technic.

My master bathroom has an existing 60” vanity with a wall mounted drain as is typical with just about every house. I want to replace the vanity with a bathtub.

I’m under the assumption there is no way to use the existing drain line correct?
With a concrete foundation house (single story), am I correct in saying that they would need to cut the concrete to plumb into the existing main drain?

Is this expensive? I’m a typical DIY guy and I’ll do the rest of the remodel myself including drywall, tiling, etc. but this I don’t particularly want to tackle.

You could possibly tie onto that wall drain pipe below the concrete, you may have to cut, remove and pour the concrete back depending on how you tub drain correlates to the drain pipe below grade. Company I do estimating for would charge roughly $1250.00 to do the job assuming no more than 5 or 6' of trenching required. $500 to cut and remove the concrete and $750 for a pour back. Kind of a minimum charge. If you can do the concrete yourself then you save some money. I would assume your concrete patch would be buried under the tub or flooring so it just needs to be fairly flat and smooth not a perfectly finished piece of concrete.

Make sure they use an electric saw.
