Adding a jib crane or engine hoist to a garage with wood frame?

I have all of my drywall out in prep. for instaling OSB and external wiring run through metal electrical pipe. SO.... i was thinking of adding a jib crane or a rolling engine hoist to help me move around stuff or just to hold while i spray it. Any ideas or advice?
It only needs to hold 100-200 lbs so i'm thinking i can weld one up from sq. tubing and bolt it to a beefed up section of the wall?

You would be better off with something which attaches to the slab.

You have to remember the levering forces at the foot of the leg.
When designed into a new building there is a foot paralleling the beam under the floor pour.
Retrofits should have nice deep hole and concrete foundation to resist the sidewise push.

I have seem cross bracing at the top of the post also.

If you can discipline your self to 200 pounds and do some good wall base anchoring you might get away with it.

If you go with a bridge crane setup, all the forces are now vertical.

One of those foldup two ton engine hoists from HF are only $200.....

I like the idea of a Jib crane, but it is limited in that you have to move the load under it, where an engine hoist can move to the load, and carry it around the shop.

I have a hoist in my garage that is made from (3) 2x8 and spans the 18'-0" width of my garage. The ends sits on built-up wood posts in the walls and when I go to lift something, I also have 2 wood posts that I wedge in under the hoist beam. When those posts are installed, the span between posts is 8'-0".

I have lifted V8 engine and transmission combos with this setup and I have not had any issues.

I will try and find (or take) some pics of my setup and add them to this post.

I have a gib crane in my garage. Its bolted to the slab. Its been handy. The loads will now be limited for it. The 1st one was very taxing and scary.

I have 3 2X6's spanning the 12 foot....They are glued and nailed
I used "post-style" floor jacks to hold the ends up when the lift is loaded
Other wise the ends are just sitting on short 2X4 to stay up there when not in use
