I haven't seen anyone doing these and maybe I'm just not doing the search correctly but here is how I went about creating more space for my tractors/trailer without spending a lot of money.
I had the 18x21ft car port already with the Deere and old Ford 640 but that left nowhere to put anything else. The side I was adding on was uphill a little so i had to take a box blade and drop the bank down some but leave room for my posts to stay concreted in. It ended up just over 10ft out with only 7" drop which wouldn't work for anywhere that collects snow but we don't get more than 2" when we get any.
with pressure treated lumber, screws, and the roofing materials I picked up off craigslist I spent about $1/sq ft.
