Hey guys, Id like to add a motion sensor to my LED light banks in my shop. I've searched and everything ive found is for led shop lights that come with a motion sensor. My led lights are just plugged into a outlet at the top of my shop. I have about 10 ten banks of lights. Does anyone know if theres something I could simply plug in? Looking for options

If all of your lights are plugged into an outlet, are they on all the time? I am guessing the outlet is controlled by a switch somewhere. Replace the switch with a motion-sensing type, but be aware there are a few different types. Choose one that will say something like "occupancy detecting", it will sense you coming into the room and stay on for a certain amount of time. Any time the sensor 'sees' you before it turns off, it will reset the timer, so make sure it's in a good location.

Went to home depot the other day and got a sensor. It was what I was looking for. I got tired of walking in the dark. This was an easy fix.

That's what I did when I was planning my light layout. I have a occupancy motion sensor in the ceiling of each bay that turns on 2 of the 8 lights (front and rear) for that bay. Works great for all the time you just need to go in and grab something and turns on the lights as soon as it senses you opening the garage door. You can see the sensor before I put on the cover plate hanging down in the top of the photo

Thats the system I would have preferred but, my option was an easy install and fairly cheap.

Sorry, I missed the fact you already had it solved. Glad your not going to bust your a$$ walking in the dark anymore
