Adding a pull switch to flourescent light fixtures

I want to add the chain type pull switches on several of my fixtures to turn them off/on as needed.

I suspect it's merely adding them on the black power wire, correct?

yes, to the hot before the ballast and after your feed for the rest of the lights downstream ( unless you want them all operated by that switch)
