Has anyone added a side cabinet or side drawers to the Kobalt 41" stainless tool chest and cabinet combo? I know they dont offer one, but I have been thinking about maybe modifying the HF ones to work with the combo. I would probably paint everything black including the stainless box when it was finished. Anyone do anything similar to their Kobalt setup?

i think im going to do this with my classic 96 and see if either my dealer can get me a quart of the same colored paint or maybe my auto body friend could just match it. $200 plus paint and a case of beer for my friend shooting it far out values the thousand or more id spend on a snappy side locker. im sure i could get it to work, even though the locker would be a bit more shallow, im not sure id care if i mounted it flush with the surface of the box. i would love to the end result if someone has done this to a non hf box please show us

I have a buddy with the blue 36" Kobalt roll cab bought 5 years ago that just bought the HF side box and painted it blue to match.
It looks very very nice although he does know his way around a spray booth.
He just did the exterior to match.
Inside of dwrs are still red due to his apathy toward both boxes.

It was just a hang, drill and bolt up deal IIRC.
I'll text him and find out if mods were necessary.
