Adding a sub-panel for dryer and stove...

I bought a rental property a couple weeks ago and it has room for a Washer/Dryer on the main floor, as well as in the basement. But, the PO's disconnected the main dryer wires from the box to hook up the basement outletinstead. I want the one on the main suite re-connected, in addition to running a stove plug to the basement.

Issue is: the current panel is full. Not overly, but full (I think there's 3 or 4 doubles). It's got 100AMP service.

Can I run a sub panel off the main breaker and hook a dryer and stove outlet to it?

Thanks for your help!! Diagrams would be a bonus!!

Well, as usual, I did some research and answered my own question.
Looks like I just need to double up a couple slots with split-breakers on each 110V side, then install double breakers on each110V side as well. From those, I can run my sub panel that will be 220V, enough for the new dryer and stove.
Just hope everyone in the house doesn't run their dryers and stoves at the same time!!

are these appliances all electric? I would NOT put two electric stoves and two electric dryers on one 100 amp service........

it will be tight but doable. Where my buddy was renting they had a 100amp service 2 dryers, 2 stoves and a 80gallon hotwater tank. What i would do is get an electration in and see if you can put a bigger main breaker. My old place had 100amp main called my buddy who worked for the power co he checked the tap out and the wire going to my meter and box and i was able to put a bigger braker in i was able to go to 150amps.

Well gents, had an electrician in and he did what I figured and MORE! He squeezed in enough to run 3 - 240V Stoves and 2 - 240V Dryer's. There'll be 3 suites total in the house on 100AMPs....that's 3 stoves, 2 dryers, 3 fridges, 2 washers, dishwasher, one HW tank, one HE furnace....plus here we use BLOCK heaters all winter.....

I'll report back if there's any problems....

Hopefully none of those families cook or dry clothes, or you can EASILY eat up 100A if people are doing them at the same time.

You can safely put 10,000 electric stoves on a 100A breaker, just realize that under normal conditions you can only run a couple at a time before the main 100A breaker pops and all 3 units are without any power until someone resets.

One 240V stove will be more draw (probably by a good margin) than the 3 fridges, 2 washers, dishwasher and furnace combined.

What he did is safe (except if people continually pop/reset the breaker), but not practical whatsoever.

So far only problems I've heard of was that one of the tenants got jumped outside the house - yikes!..maybe I'll have to add a CCTV system now!

You still don't have any lions hanging around causing problems, right?
