adding another outlet off a toggle switch/outlet

Just wanted to "check my math" on this one.

I want to have another outlet controlled by the single-pole switch of a toggle switch/outlet (like this):

I'm using a Legrand 691 unit and here's the instruction sheet diagram for the basic setup:

I assume this setup will add another outlet to the switch, but I wanted to check with you guys. As you can see in the instruction drawing, there's no jumper to snap off the switch/outlet. I'm basically replacing the little jumper (shown above) with the added outlet in its place. The added outlet is a standard one (my drawing makes 'em look disconnected to each other - sorry). Here's my lame attempt at a circuit drawing.

Sorry for such a simple question, but looking online makes these combo switches seem very complicated with all of the different wiring options.

Rather than run two sets of wires to the added outlet, I would simply run a small jumper tied with the lower outlet.

Switch (right side) to-> wire-nut with two additional black wires, one to added outlet and one to lower outlet. Do the same with the outgoing neutral (two wires, one to each outlet "set").

I would also make sure to match the wire size from the incoming line. Because it is a 15A receptacle, it could be on a 15 or 20A line, and you wouldn't want to run a 14/2 extension if the breaker was sized for 20A.

Caveat, I am not an electrician professionally, but have done lots of my own wiring.

I'm an electrician. I'm not sure I'm following your question but I'm trying. It looks like you are wiring the switch in the combination switch/ receptacle device to control both the receptacle below the switch and the separate duplex receptacle. If that is the case and if i understand your cryptic diagram, it will work. A cocktail napkin diagram would be better, and I'm serious, not joking. But if you aren't clear on such a basic premise/ project/ install, you may want to re-think doing this yourself.

Apologies to the moderator if this shouldn't be done - I only got one response in the electric/lighting forum.

I want to wire up another switched outlet off of one of those switch/outlet combo's. Can somebody look my circuit (in the third picture below) and confirm that it'll work?

Here's the switch/outlet:

Here is the wiring diagram included with the combo for getting a switched outlet:

Here's what I want to do. My drawing makes it look like the second outlet is split, but it has the metal tabs in place. Can somebody confirm that this circuit should work? Thanks for any help!

I think you need more black and white to make your diagram clear.

This one has the breakout tabs between the hot and the switch.Replace the existing sw/recp combination and you're good to go.
