Adding ceiling and insulation to open garage

So I’d like to close off and insulate my garage from the rest of the house. I’d like add a small hanging platform(4x8) at the back where there is access to the attic of the house for storage.
The walls will be insulated and finished with chip board but I’m open for how the ceiling will be finished. My thoughts are plastic panels to keep it light or steel to add structure. I’d like to stay away from drywall but I’m not set against it.

My concern is that the joists will not support this but I have no framing structure knowledge.

Thanks for any input!

From the second photo, it looks like your attached house attic is directly open to the garage space without a fire break. Is this in the U.S.?
