Might be a stupid question but I’m not a big fan of electrical work so better to ask questions.Im looking to add exterior lights to my garage..one on each side of the door as there’s no lighting presently.I have a screened porch that does have a light in the entry way...the switch turns on this light and another exterior light on the front of the house. Can I run wires from the porch light to power the new exterior lights? My wife wants to have the electrician do it but it seems pretty straight forward besides climbing around the 100 degree attic to run the wires...I was thinking if I jumped the wires from the porch light to the garage then they would all run off the one switch or am I wrong to do this?

In theory it should work but, will the finished job be pretty enough for her standards.

If you allow her more input, you will not be totally responsible when the end result is not perfect.

If you use LED bulbs, the lights will not add much draw to the circuit. But you may want to look into solar/motion lights that turn on at dusk. That's what I did outside my garage.
