Hi,

One of my drawers in my KRA heritage stack is creaking due to the weight of all the sockets in it. The drawer has single guides either end of it but looks to have cut outs to accept another set.

Is it possible to add a second set to the drawer to take the strain off the single set ?

Then you probably can. Got a picture?

Pic below.

You can just about see the extra set of cut outs in the sides of the drawer above the single set below.

Yes, you can add extra slides. The Craftsman boxes have those cutouts too. It's pretty common. Heck, I think even the US General boxes have cutouts for more slides.

Yes, just call your friendly neighborhood SO guy and order up a 2nd set...same as the rest in the box.
Will take longer to empty your drawer out so you can pull it out to install the new set.

Common upgrade on many boxes.

Hi,

So following on from this i had my SO dealer order some slides....

They arrived but they don't fit, they are much to big to fit my box.

So i took a note of the number on the slides in my box, which is:

8-04988

This doesn't show up on the SO website however :headscrat

Have they been replaced with another model etc ?

Have him double check is part numbers. Is your problem they are too long? I guess is you got slides for a classic. Both the classics and a heritage like yours use the kra model designation. Classics are 24" deep compared to yours is 19". A second set of slides should up you to 250 lbs load rating.

Yes they are too long by roughly 4-5 inches.

I had one sat inside my toolbox and it was sticking out the front a good bit.

SO website is ****, the part number for the new slides doesn't show up neither do the numbers on my current slides.

Just for information:
Slides on my KRA2007 are also 8-04988.

According to SO website the description for 8-05288ALRS is:
Left/right side kit with screws. For all narrow and wide drawers in KRA2000/KRA4000/KRA5000 Series units and KRSC series carts.

Will enquire with my local SO dealer on Monday as I'm also keen to double up on a few of my drawers.

I have an older kra4107 and did the same for one of the drawers. The new slides were slightly different and wouldn't work as a second set the the old style - don't ask me why. I ended up putting the new set on a shallow drawer and using the set off of the shallow drawer to double up the deep drawer. Just sharing lessons learned....

And here's a picture with my three sunex impact sets (from the deal last year) and a 3/4 drive set.

I put extra drawers in my KRA4107. The new slides didn't snap into place like the originals, they still hooked in place but needed small screws to hold them there.
