Adding garage door opener with only a light socket in the ceiling?

So i am adding a garage door opener to my one car garage and there is a light in the ceiling where the outlet should be that is operated by the light switch next to the door to inside. How can I get an outlet up there next to the light that has continuous power.

I was thinking about changing the light fixture to one with an outlet but I don't think it would have continuous power.

The Light switch also has an outlet attached to it that is continuous. I am new to all of this. The most electric thing i have done was rewiring a hanging light and installing it yesterday in the dining room and putting a dimmer switch in! ha !

Any ideas would be great!

Well first I would turn off the breaker for that circuit, drop the light fixture and see how many cables are going into it. Guessing is never good, Murphy always makes one guess wrong. There is a reasonable possibility you have power full time at the fixture and that the switch wires to the fixture's box.
