Adding heat

I started thiking about adding a heating element and thermostat to my Solvent Tank. Does this sound doable ? Pick a used suitable water heater and cut the fitting out that the heating element threads into and weld that onto my existing tank. And then add a Thermostat for the same unit.

I am also looking into getting the needed parts from a Hot Tank Manufacter. The water heater idea is just easier.
