Let me preface by asking you all to pardon my ignorance in non automotive electrical so I will do my best with descriptions/terms. I currently have 4 of the big 300 watt equivalent fluorescent bulbs lighting my 30'x30' shop. I needed some light in there quick and cheap a few years ago so I could start taking out dirt at night to prep for concrete. When I had my neighbor wire it for me I made sure to get bulb sockets that have a three prong outlet so I could easily add more lights down the road on my own. That day has come!!! I'm going with the $39 LED 48" shop lights available at Home Depot. The reviews look good and can't beat the price with quick and easy local pickup. The question:
How many would you add and where? I'm thinking 6 on the ceiling and drop 2 down over the work bench on the front wall.
I like the idea of mounting 2 on each side where the roof trusses angle at about 45 degrees and 2 in the middle (with 2 more over the bench). Will having the lights on the walls angled inward create bad shadows or any other reason not to do this? Any other ideas? I hope to start this weekend. Pardon the mess, was in the middle of organizing when a friend needed help with upper/lower vortec 350 intake manifold gaskets and haven't had the time to finish cleaning and organizing. Thanks for the input!
