Just bought a home and I'm wanting to expand the existing detached garage by adding another 20x30 to the right to put lift and a large tool room in the rear maybe. Not too sure about the flat roof, may put pitch roof over entire addition if feesable. Thanks for letting me join this fantastic site.

Start by checking with your local jurisdiction to see if there are height limits, setbacks, drain fields, easements or anything else that are impediments to building the addition.

Great advice, adding to also check restrictive covenants/HOAs etc that are specific to neighborhoods and outside of the typical building & zoning requirements.

The expansion doesn't look bad for the post-frame, main issues will be getting everything planar with existing surfaces.

Welcome Aboard, I regret that because I live so far from Florida I have no idea of what to tell you about adding on to your garage shop; perhaps a local builder can prepare a proposal for you.

Unincorporated, with no HOA and no restrictions. I have a easement in the back for electrical and I wont be anywhere near it.
