I just had a Morton built, and am already thinking it will be to small. It is a 30x40x12. Can this be stretched out another 20 or so foot? If so, what should I do with the roof line, should I make it match the existing, or step down maybe 2 foot. I only need more floor space.

Any idea of the cost. I would keep the existing side wall, and divide it up. May just use it for cold storage and not cement it.

Thoughts to make it look nice?

Good looking building.

Yeah, folks do this all the time, add on to an existing building.... call your Morton guy, you'll make his day.

For the addition, I'd lower the wall height and make it narrower.

Great looking building. You will be very surprised at the amount of room after moving stuff inside.
I have a 30x50 pole barn and basement shop. I would put the money into better organization or sell some stuff. Another suggestion is adding a lean to off the back or side. Should add around $5k for lean to over the length of the building.

I assume you will be widening the building on the side, if so I would keep the same roof line. Since it is a new building it will match better. Keep up posted on how it goes.

I am planning on adding a 16'x60' extension on my old Morton building, built in 1995. I contacted them last week and they are working up a price.

Did they say that the color will match ok?

It looks like it's costing $20 per square foot. When adding on, I'd assume that number will go up a bit since they will likely have to take apart the existing structure to some extent.

So to add on 20x30 section, you will have at bare minimum, $12,000. My guess would be closer to $15,000.
