Hi all,
I have a Karcher pressure washer with a honda engine model GC190...3000psi 2.5gals a minute. I'd like to add a pressure regulator to this washer.....is that possible, and if someone has done it or has a you tube link or any info, I'd appreciate the advice.
Thanks

Take a good look at the unloader valve on the unit. You may be able to adjust pressure there.

Thanks dave*99.....I really want to drop this down to 1500psi for a specific task, so am looking at a proper regulator and a pressure guage set up....not sure I'll be able to do this at the unloader.

Stepping up to a larger nozzle is the proper way. There are charts online matching up orifice size and pressure for a given flow.
This is the way.
I have several 15 and 20 degree nozzles. My pump is set at 4000 psi and will run at that pressure if I use 4.0 nozzles. The largest nozzles I have drop the pressure down to about 1000 psi.

Thanks scooby 074 and Ing3018,
The application I need it for is sewer cleaning in my RV....I have a set up already made, but it requires a sewer cleaning nozzle that pulls the hose into the tank, so I wouldn't be able to utilize the nozzles you refer to.

Does the sewer jet nozzle say what the orifice size is? Reference the tip chart mentioned.

I have a sewer jetter hose and nozzle set as well. The setup I purchased was specified for the full pressure of my pump. I have used it on plastic sewer pipes and perforated corrugated downspout tubing without any trouble.

ing3018....thanks....I'm not sure what pressure the set of nozzles I bought is set up for....I guess I'm more concerned with 3000psi punching a hole in my grey or black tank, hence the thought of reducing the pressure.

mike931x....just want to give both tanks a thorough cleaning....my unit is 25 years old and its never been deep cleaned before.
So you have a camera to confirm the cleaning was complete? If so, have you looked to see if this is worth it?

I bet some simple flushing with a good cleaning product will be more than sufficient.
