adding sides and doors to metal shelving

have these metal/mdf units id like to add doors too. hide all that **** on there. whats the best way to do this? thanks

You can find your local sheet metal shop and have sides and backs cut to fit out of something thin like 24 gauge. Or use some 3/8 inch OSB sheets. Doors are going to be more complicated. If you're looking for cleaner storage why not use plastic covered storage bins.

I hid my metal shelves, hid all the clutter and also freed up valuable floor space like this..........

I picked up a couple of 2x4 pcs of plywood from home depot along with some cheap-o molding and made these.

i have thought of doing the same thing with a shelf unit i have in the garage. i have also considered just buying a steel cabinet instead. either way you go, post up some pics.

Here is an old cabinet that I put doors on. I had screen down the sides as well to vent the garden related products and fertilizers in.

I made some curtains from canvas paint tarps and a brass eyelet punch from HD. Hides stuff and is easy to slide out of the way. They don't have to open out into your space. If you have a car in the way or just not much room.

I'm looking to do the same thing as wifey is tired of all the wood dust getting all over the bins and other stuff we have on the shelves. Back and sides seem easy enough to add plywood to with bolts, but how would you add door hinges? Thanks!
