Hey guys, I am thinking about running some 2x4's horizontally across the truss's in my attic above the insulation then adding a 2 foot strip of ¾ ply on each side of the center vertical truss's. The idea is to build some storage for my wife holiday ****. See attached pics where I would attached the 2/4's to every truss. There is a hallways underneath the attic, so its not a large span by any means.

Look's like it would work to Me as long as Your wife's **** is not super heavy !

I did truss's above My garage many years ago for a bit more storage, never had a problem.

If the bottom chord of the truss is made of 2x4 then I would be cautious about how much weight you store in the attic. If it's made of 2x6 then you should have no issue. The fact that the truss is resting on a wall in the middle(?) makes a significant difference however.

I highly doubt it was designed to be bearing in the middle. Chances are its deflected down onto the wall, or they just built it tight the bottom.
