adding to craftsman sets?

does craftsman make sets to add on to current sets...i have all 6-pt set...

i want more sockets, larger ones to continue to grow my collection...is a large set available?

Good question as I am now trying to finish off lots of my small sets and missing pieces. Many times if you missing one or two you might as well buy a small set and get extra's especially when most sockets are 2.99 - 4.99 each.

kind off... if you look in thier tool catalog, they advertise having sets by number (1-10) and under each set, it shows you what tools were added on to the set before it. This keeps you from getting duplicates. So, For example, the difference between the 310pc set (1) and the 400 piece set (2) might be a set they call limited access, which features swivel sockets, stubby wrenches and crowsfeet. Kind of hard to explain what I mean, but if you look in thier catalog you will see. IMHO, buying an add on kit is sort of a waste, considering they giv you alot of stuff youll rarely, if not ever use. Just buy the stuff when you need it, or when you think your gunna need it. I agree with red, Alot of times it is cheaper to just buya small set of thier sockets rather than buying them individually... I bought 5 or 6 specific craftsman sockets for the kart, and it wound up being like $21. For that money, I could have gotten the little 3/8 and ratchet set they advertise, but buying individually is always like that.

A number of years ago Sears had a surplus store here in my area. The sold of refurbished returned items suplus clothes and hardware stuff. They had a couple of plastic bins with sockets in them. Just thrown into the bucket. The smaller ones were if I remember were 50 to 75 cents each. And the larger ones were some where around a $1 each. Now your going to say they were rejects but in fact they were all #1 quality Craftsmen sockets. I was able to put together a set of metric 1/4" drive long sockets for less than $10. I think there were at least 10 sockets in that set. From 4mm up to 14 mm. I also filled in my other sets. You had to look through the buckets but you could usually get 10 or 15 each time you went to the store. They had other stuff like power tools etc at good prices too. But like most good things they closed those types of stores so those bargains are gone. My 2 1/2 cents.

by the way, i'm dail....a stonemason, as in builds structures out of stone, not the fraternity mason; out of maryland with an addiction to tools and taking things apart..for fun....nice to meet you.

Used to be a Sears Surplus in south KC. Missouri years ago, I got many deals like runner 94 described, ah yes indeed, those were good times.

Yeah theyre pretty nice, I have a few. Not THAT great to the point of replacing your whole collection though. If your looking for sockets and you have problems reading them (like I do with snap ons ) then maybe id look at them. A bit more expensive though.
