I installed a Swisstrax Ribtrax floor in my garage in early 2013, and would like to share a few insights regarding this product with the forum. First of all, I chose the tile instead of epoxy flooring due to problems my neighbors had with even the professionally installed epoxy flooring. Stained or damaged areas on the epoxy floors could not be easily repaired, but a damaged tile can be replaced in less than a minute. I ordered sample Swisstrax and competitor's tiles and compared them, and chose Swisstrax as it seemed considerably stronger and more well built than the other brands. As I have a couple of classic cars that sometimes leak various fluids, I finally ordered Ribtrax tiles as they are easy to remove and fluid spills would be easier to clean. Sarah, the Swisstrax salesperson, helped me lay out a cool design, and calculate quantities and the order came through perfectly. The installation was easier than I expected --installing the outside edges took about half the time due to cutting tiles to go around water heaters, air conditioners, steps, workbenches, etc. Once that was done, the rest of the inside tiles were very easy and almost fun to install as they went so quickly and you could see the garage floor transforming in front of you. The whole installation was only about half a day, which was not bad for one person installing over 800 square feet of flooring. Maintenance has been practically nothing -- I have vacuumed the floor a couple of times, used a leaf blower 4-5 times, and cleaned up a couple of spills and that is about the extent of it -- and the floor still looks like the day I installed it. I do keep cardboard under my cars for the leaking issues, however and I am sure that has saved me some work.
Bottom line is I think I made the right choice for my garage and if I had it all to do again, I would choose the same flooring.
