Anyone use adjustable wire strippers like these?

http://www.kleintools.com/catalog/a...utters/adjustable-wire-stripper-solidstranded

Irwin has a pair where a 'nut' with a flat ground in is the stopper. Most use the screw head as a stopper. Can't tell from the pics what Klein uses.

Kinda thinking about getting three pairs, setting them for 10/12/14, color-coding the handles, and dropping them in my electric bag. But I thought I'd get the opinions of more discriminating users here than reviews on *mazon.

I have Klein and Ideal stamped multi-gauge strippers as well as my new Milwaukee 6-n-1's that I'll carry anyway, but I might be involved in quite a bit of rough resi work in the next few months where a single slot stripper might be handier.

I moved to the automatic style a few years ago and never looked back. I've got a couple to cover everything from 8 gauge down to 24, but this one is my most used size: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004UN8ZNM/?tag=atomicindus08-20

A bit pricey, but if you're doing it more than as a hobby it pays for itself pretty quickly. Second only to my zip tie gun for how much time and effort it has saved me.

TOPTUL makes an automatic model that I have up on EBay. What I like about it is that the wire enters from the front of the jaws and not from the side. In tight areas this can be a real advantage.

I have never seen an automatic one as fancy as this. A good idea if it lasts.

Best in my opinion is the Ideal Stripmaster. They come in a variety of wire gauge ranges and stranded or solid wire.

That's a cheaper version of the same mechanism I mentioned, in my use they only last a few weeks

In my experience, one pair being used maybe an hour a day M-F, the jaws stay sharp for about a year. They offer replacement jaws, and even then; it's just the center of the blades that dull, so you can generally move the wire offcenter, and it will strip fine while you're waiting for the replacements to come in. The best part is the adjustable tension; I generally strip a sample wire, with the tension one click less than what will cut strands.

Best in my opinion is the Ideal Stripmaster. They come in a variety of wire gauge ranges and stranded or solid wire.

I find those work best on small wire; 22awg and smaller. At those sizes they're more consistent in my use than the first set I mentioned.

These are my three wire strippers. I dislike the screw adjustment one that VBW, Stubai, NWS, and Knipex make. This type is very common in Europe for some reason. My favorite is the PWCS9CF and I have owned the prior black and red handles ones as well.

Jokari, Pressmaster, Wezag, have the automatic versions.

these look very similar to the Knipex that I have, which are excellent. I higly recommend this type of stripper as it is the quickest i have come across. much better then the ideal type that uses a die which you must line up with the correct gauge wire. this one, just stick the wire in an squeeze. it also will do multiple wires in one shot which is convenient

I love both of these. I believe both are rated for stripping 10-24 AWG wire but I do tend to prefer the Knipex 1262180 on smaller gauge and the Vise-Grip 2078300 on larger stuff but never have had any trouble from either on anything.
