No idea about age.

Hi Jeff. Maybe you didn't see my post in the GS thread. I believe it's Russian.

I'm not going to attempt the name. There are some threads on it. I ran into a 1/2" t handle a while back and was unsure on it. I was pretty sure it wasn't Herbrand but wasn't quite sure what it was. Now I know.

I think you're right. Looking at that wrench made me recall seeing that logo somewhere recently on eBay...

Obviously they're in the tool business... looks like since 1941. They've got a couple serious drop-forges in that video.

Be a lot easier if I could read or understand Russian - may as well be Chinese or Klingon for all I know.

I emailed them an inquiry on Jeff's wrench. We'll see what happens.

Imagine the back story about how a wrench made it from Siberia to Ohio.
Interestingly, we are seeing more and more Russian made stuff show up - hence my fascination with it. Unfortunately I don't know the language so it's been difficult to ferret out any information.
It would appear that that wrench came out of the largest tool making plant in Russia, located in one of their biggest industrial centers.

Russian exports were heavily subsidized pre 89..........the Russian machine tools (lathes ,mills etc) at give away prices hit the Euro market mid 1960s ,and finished off the UK industry........Stanko-Import is a common branding...............notice the worm has a left hand thread .
